On the 27th January 2022, a ceremony that was delayed since 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finally got held especially for the Senior Middle Two students to celebrate the beginning of their senior life.

The ceremony started with a video being played, in which our Principal, Dr. Chua Lee Lee encouraged students to overcome all the obstacles as life without challenges isn’t complete. ‘You will be able to fly against the wind with powerful wings only if you fill your heart with hope and gratitude, ’ said Madam Chua.

As the video ended, students were told by their Form Teachers to come up with a challenge or goal for the year as a source of motivation throughout their Senior 2 life. Students were then asked to rate the difficulty of their goal on a scale of one to ten with one being the easiest. The difficulty level of their respective challenges is then multiplied by 30 and converted to the time students need to hold their water bottles with their arms totally straight in seconds.

Once the calculation was done, the timer started and each student began grabbing their distinctive water bottles in midair. For some students, it was like a piece of cake while for others their arms felt sore but one thing for sure it was no doubt a unique experience to all the students.

Next up, students got up from their seats as the teacher started giving away pins and postcards. The pins given were exquisite and a tiny ‘2021’ was carved on the back as a remembrance. Some pinned it on the collar of their uniform themselves while the others sought help. The postcards on the other hand had motivational quotes with messages from the Principal to all the students printed on them.

Before this simple yet meaningful ceremony ended, students gathered in front of the class and took a group photo with their respective Form Teacher.
