A Parents’ Briefing Day for Kuen Cheng High School 2020 Intake is on! In a bright and sunny Saturday on 6 July 2019, the school was open for visits of parents who would like to know more about the school and registration proper. The Auditorium was packed with interested parents and their young children; they showed eagerness and were full of desire to learn many things in the new school ahead. And, most of them expressed their readiness for the enrollment once the briefing session was over.
The day event started with a welcoming message from our Principal, Dr Chua Lee Lee. She has also put forward her concern about the mode of education and challenges to be met by our younger generations in the upcoming 21st Century. Education for students is not as simple as it was decades ago, with the fast paces of the ever-changing society, the ever-evolving and latest technologies. Teachers have in a way been given bigger multi tasks to make sure the delivery and quality of education will help and fulfill the needs of future career for their respective students.
Up next, Head of the Academic Department, Madam Leong Wai Yee, went up onstage to brief about the mode of education and co-curricular activities Kuen Cheng offer. She further talked about the uniqueness of the school system, being an independent Chinese school running dual track; students are taught and prepared to take the examinations of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC). This allows the students to have a wider path to walk on once they graduate, as the choices of higher education increases greatly with both certificates.
Immediately, after the talk, parents who wish to directly enroll their children were requested to sign up at the counters set up around school lobby. The rest of the audience has been split into two groups, for the visit to the school campus and the hostel facility. Members of the Counseling Club volunteered and did the guiding tour for both group visitors.
It was a merry recruitment day for the school; we look forward to seeing more new faces in the upcoming academic year 2020 and receiving levels of greater achievement for Kuen Cheng High School!
